The Politechnic University of Madrid continues to improve its position to 321st place (out of 1,503) in the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings. The UPM is among the 25% of the best higher education institutions worldwide and is the first Spanish polytechnic university.

In the rank of the best universities in Engineering and Technology of the QS World University Ranking, the Polytechnic University of Madrid appears in the TOP100, occupying the 73th position (out of 555).

American and British universities are at the top of the Rank. In the first place are the (MIT) Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Imperial College London and the University of Oxford. Harvard and Cambridge universities occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

The general classification includes 35 Spanish universities, led by the Complutense University of Madrid (ranked 164), Barcelona (165) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (175).

The QS World University Rankings classify universities around the world based on parameters such as Academic Excellence, the impact and quality of scientific work, the recognition of their graduates in companies or the proportion of international professors and students.
